Laboratory Supervisor, Quality Manager, or Process Engineering Manager Position Summary The Electroplating Chemical Laboratory Technician is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling chemical solutions used in electroplating and surface finishing operations. This role ensures bath chemistry remains within specification to maintain coating quality, process stability, and compliance with safety and environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities Perform routine chemical analysis of plating baths (e.g., Zn, Zn-Ni, Ni, Cu, passivates, cleaners) Conduct titrations, pH measurements, conductivity, and temperature checks Interpret lab results and recommend chemical additions or adjustments Maintain control charts and trend data Troubleshoot plating issues such as poor coverage, no-throw, burning, or thickness variation Support new bath make-ups and chemical changeovers Maintain accurate laboratory records and support audits Follow chemical safety, handling, and disposal procedures Track chemical inventory, usage, and shelf lifeRequired Qualifications Education:
Associate degree or technical certification in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or equivalent experienceExperience:
1-3 years in electroplating, metal finishing, or industrial laboratory environment Technical Skills Wet chemistry and titration techniques Understanding of electroplating processes Ability to interpret technical data sheets and specifications Basic math and Excel skills Knowledge of current density, ASF, pH, temperature, and bath balance Soft Skills Strong attention to detail Analytical troubleshooting mindset Effective communication skills Safety- and quality-focused Work Environment Laboratory and production floor environment requiring PPE. Standing, walking, handling chemicals, and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.Pay:
