This is a key field leadership role responsible for overseeing underground HDPE gas line installations, repairs, and maintenance. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with underground utility construction, a deep understanding of HDPE fusion processes, and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities Lead and supervise underground HDPE gas line installation, repair, and maintenance projects in compliance with project specifications and safety regulations. Perform HDPE pipe fusion, installation, and system testing according to industry standards and local code requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and utility plans to ensure accurate installation and alignment. Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and field crews to maintain project timelines and quality standards. Conduct site inspections to verify proper installation methods, safety compliance, and workmanship quality. Estimate material quantities, labor requirements, and equipment needs for project planning and budgeting. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to underground gas line systems in the field. Maintain accurate daily reports, safety logs, and compliance documentation. Qualifications Valid state-issued HDPE certification (required). Proven experience in underground gas utility construction, including installation, repair, and maintenance of HDPE gas lines. Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal gas line regulations and safety standards. Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment related to utility work. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and utility maps. Basic math skills for measurements, layout, and material calculations. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physical environments. OSHA certification or additional utility safety certifications are a plus. Preferred Experience Underground utility construction Gas distribution systems Pipe fusion and pressure testing Construction estimating Crew leadership / foreman experience
