Full Job Description Responsibilities and Output:

Formulate and coat chemical sensors to meet demanding requirements Set-up and operate laboratory equipment, including vapor generation systems Conduct quality control tests Follow procedures, experimental protocols and quality control test plans Troubleshoot problems with products, equipment, experiments and processes Document work, maintain databases and prepare technical reports Interpret and clearly communicate results of work Plan and implement experiments, analyze results, and plan follow-on work Work cooperatively with vendors and co-workers, maintaining a positive environment Always act with high integrity, a commitment to quality and safety, and in compliance with company policies Assist with chemical inventories and additional responsibilities as required

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field or comparable work experience Experience in a chemistry lab is preferred Experience in running laboratory equipment (e.g. UV-Vis) a plus Enjoy hands-on laboratory work and learning new skills Strong commitment to safety; comfortable working with hazardous chemicals Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication and teamwork skills Ability to be flexible, to plan tasks, and to move between tasks efficiently Ability and desire to learn about new equipment, techniques, and processes Results oriented and comfortable meeting tight deadlines Be comfortable working both independently and within a team Strong computer skills and attention to detail Have good eyesight and the ability to differentiate colors Ability to perform laboratory hand/wrist motions while standing/bending, position oneself to conduct laboratory work, and occasionally lift and carry up to 30lbs. Currently located in Virginia Beach area or have ties to area.

Pay:

$40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
