Peptide Chemist - Analytical Testing JCD Research Huntington Beach, CA Job Details Part-time $20 - $28 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Biochemistry Bachelor of Science Bachelor's degree Attention to detail Chemistry Full Job Description About the role We are a Huntington Beach-based peptide startup seeking a detail-oriented part-time Peptide Chemist (under 30 hours per week) focused on analytical testing and quality verification. You will be at the heart of our quality pipeline — running purity analysis, characterizing peptide batches, and ensuring our products meet rigorous specifications. This is a great opportunity for a chemistry student, recent graduate, or experienced lab professional looking for flexible part-time work. You'll play a meaningful role at a growing company where your work directly impacts product quality. Key responsibilities Perform purity and identity testing of peptide batches via analytical HPLC and LC-MS Prepare and review certificates of analysis (COAs) for finished peptide products Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC and mass spectrometry instruments Prepare buffer solutions, mobile phases, and sample preparations Document all testing data accurately in lab notebooks and LIMS Support QC investigations and out-of-spec (OOS) analyses Assist with developing and validating analytical test methods Manage reagent and reference standard inventories Qualifications B.S., or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (or equivalent lab experience) Experience with analytical HPLC operation and data interpretation Familiarity with mass spectrometry (LC-MS) is a strong plus Knowledge of peptide structure and amino acid chemistry is preferred High attention to detail and commitment to accurate data recording Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced startup environment
Pay:
$20.00 - $28.00 per hour
