This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a small-company environment and is looking to advance into a position of major responsibility. You will lead challenging laboratory work involving the generation of small-scale chemical atmospheres to test filters and gas masks. This position offers a unique mentorship opportunity, with specialized training provided. This position reports directly to COO.

Key Responsibilities Experimental Design & Testing:

Set up atmosphere generators involving extensive gas plumbing and conduct performance testing in flowing systems.

Lab Operations:

Manage lab planning, experimental design, and hands-on chemistry using various instrumentation.

Leadership:

Supervise a team of three technical services employees, including the Quality Control Manager.

Technical Reporting:

Develop comprehensive technical reports, tests, and specifications based on experimental results.

Client Interaction:

Serve as a technical point of contact for clients to discuss experimental parameters and results.

Manufacturing Support:

Support chemical manufacturing activities related to air sampling and gas mask evaluation.

Requirements Education:

Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Chemical Engineering or Chemical Technology . Will consider candidates with a B.S. and extensive, relevant professional experience.

Experience:

Proven experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment, specifically working with flowing systems .

Technical Skills:

Strong theoretical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in gas plumbing and lab instrumentation.

Interpersonal Skills:

Demonstrated ability to manage people and technical issues with integrity and common sense.

Communication:

Ability to clearly communicate lab activities and technical results to both internal teams and external clients.
