This is a W2 only role — C2C and C2H candidates will not be considered. Role Overview BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Scientist I to join our client's team in Pleasanton, CA. This role will support molecular assay development activities through laboratory experimentation, data analysis, technical documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA isolation and PCR-based applications, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative assay development projects while working in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment. Key Responsibilities Laboratory Experimentation Conduct laboratory experiments while following established protocols, procedures, and safety guidelines. Perform DNA and RNA isolation using standard molecular biology techniques. Execute PCR, qPCR, and digital PCR experiments to support assay development activities. Follow experimental protocols and document all activities accurately within electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN). Ensure data integrity by adhering to company documentation and quality requirements. Troubleshoot experimental issues and support the resolution of technical challenges. Execute laboratory activities within established project timelines. Support development activities and contribute experimental findings to design history files when applicable. Data Analysis Analyze experimental data using established templates and analytical tools. Utilize statistical software such as JMP to evaluate and interpret assay performance. Generate accurate summaries, conclusions, and recommendations based on experimental results. Support data review activities and maintain data accuracy and traceability. Documentation & Communication Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records within electronic laboratory notebooks (eLN).
Prepare technical documentation including:
Experimental protocols Laboratory reports Design History File (DHF) documentation Communicate experimental results and project updates to supervisors and team members in a timely manner. Present findings during team meetings and project discussions as needed. Participate in technical discussions and provide constructive feedback. Laboratory Operations Support routine laboratory maintenance activities. Follow laboratory safety procedures and quality system requirements. Participate in ISO and Quality System Regulation (QSR) compliance activities. Assist with inventory tracking and management of: Equipment Reagents Supplies Raw materials Laboratory specimens Maintain an organized and compliant laboratory environment. Collaboration & Project Support Collaborate effectively with cross-functional development teams. Build professional working relationships with team members and stakeholders. Contribute toward project goals and timelines. Support a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Participate as an active member of development projects while working independently when required. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: Molecular Biology Genetics Biochemistry Life Sciences Related Scientific Discipline 1-5 years of relevant laboratory or industry experience.
