Job Description

job summary: Join a premier global life sciences leader in San Diego, CA, as an Analytical Chemistry Scientist II. This fully onsite, first-shift role offers a vibrant, fast-paced environment where you will directly impact analytical method development and transfer for cutting-edge oligonucleotide synthesis and release testing.

San Diego, California job type: Contract salary: $40 - 45 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelors responsibilities: Develop, optimize, validate, and transfer analytical methods for oligonucleotides, raw materials, and reagent consumables. Design, plan, and execute complex laboratory experiments with minimal supervision. Operate and maintain advanced instrumentation including HPLC, UHPLC, and LC-MS. Analyze data, interpret results, and proactively troubleshoot unexpected analytical outcomes. Prepare detailed study protocols, reports, and assay work instructions. Ensure strict compliance with GMP, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and internal quality standards.
qualifications:
Required:
Minimum of a BS degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in analytical method development, qualification, validation, and transfer. Proven technical proficiency with HPLC and LC-MS platforms. Direct experience with oligonucleotide characterization and raw material testing. Demonstrated working knowledge of GMP and GDP compliance.
Preferred:
Experience with CE, UV, NMR, and Fluorescence plate readers.
