What You'll Do as an
Analytical Chemist:
Operate and maintain HPLC instrumentation in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform nutrient potency analysis for in-house product testing. Perform routine instrument maintenance, including cleaning laboratory glassware, tuning instruments, and completing calibration procedures to ensure reliable performance. Evaluate calibration curves, quality control samples, and analytical results to ensure accuracy and compliance with laboratory standards. Prepare and review final analytical reports summarizing testing results. Troubleshoot instrument performance issues and quality control failures, utilizing available resources such as laboratory personnel, instrument manufacturers, and scientific literature. Assist with general laboratory housekeeping and support the team with overflow analytical work as needed. Prepare and process biological samples, including blood and urine, for analytical testing when required. Maintain ongoing communication with laboratory management regarding workflow, priorities, and laboratory issues. Manage workflow effectively to complete assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Follow all laboratory safety protocols and maintain compliance with laboratory procedures and standards.
Who You Are:
BS degree in Chemistry or another four-year science degree that includes at least two semesters of instrumental analysis. At least 1 year of experience working in an accredited laboratory environment (ISO17025 preferred). At least 1 year of hands-on analytical chemistry experience using HPLC instrumentation. Experience with analytical sample preparation techniques including solid phase extraction and liquid/liquid extraction. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented laboratory environment. Self-motivated with the ability to follow direction while also working independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a production or analytical laboratory setting. Experience working with additional analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC-MS, and LC-MS.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for extended periods of time and lift or move materials weighing up to 30 lbs.
Work EnvironmentSchedule:
Full-time, exempt position in a laboratory environment. Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-5:00pm with flexibility as business needs require.
