Job Description

Uyemura International Corporation is a specialty chemical manufacturer for metal coatings, has an immediate opening for a Quality Control Chemist to join our team in Southington, CT.
Duties would include:
Perform quality control on finished product and enters results in ERP and Minitab. Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and accuracy. Accurately document and report test results, maintain detailed laboratory records of raw material and batch testing, and enter data into Chempax (ERP). Investigate and troubleshoot out-of-specification (OOS) results and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions when necessary. Prepare standard and reagent solutions, and ensure proper labeling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and samples in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Support method validation, method development, and process improvement initiatives as required. Achieve established work area cleanliness standards and maintain a high degree of organization in work area(s) including; follow and support 6S program efforts and achieve and strive for highest quality standards in work. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and good laboratory practices (GLP) to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory workflows.
Qualifications :
BS/BA in Chemistry or related field Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in a quality control or analytical chemistry environment, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Experience working with standard titration methodology, UV-visible, AA, experience with
ICP, HPLC, FTIR, CVS
a plus Experience with Minitab and test development a plus EOE/Veterans/Disabled/LGBT employer/benefits
