Full Job Description Job Position Overview:
We are looking for research and development chemist to support ongoing product development within the Research & Development Chemistry Group at 1,4GROUP. This role emphasizes strong laboratory skills, careful experimental execution, data integrity, and scientific documentation, while providing exposure to formulation science, analytical chemistry, and scale‑up considerations. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated early-career chemist with a strong foundation in organic and analytical chemistry who is eager to build practical laboratory skills in an applied R D environment. They are detail-oriented, with excellent documentation skills, and the able to follow procedures precisely to produce reliable, reproducible data. This individual is comfortable working hands-on in the lab, supports formulation and analytical work with care and accuracy, and takes initiative in maintaining organization and safety. They demonstrate a willingness to learn, collaborate effectively within a diverse team, and contribute consistently to team-driven product development efforts in an industrial agrochemical setting.
Responsibilities:
Laboratory Research & Experimentation
  • Conduct routine laboratory experiments in support of product development, including formulation work, chemical application studies, and in storage evaluations.
  • Perform basic organic, physical, and analytical chemistry experiments under guidance from senior staff
  • Prepare samples for analytical testing (e.g., GC, HPLC, IR and fluorescence spectroscopy, gravimetric analysis, etc.) and assist with data collection and organization
  • Support small‑scale efficacy studies and assist with experimental setups designed to evaluate product performance under controlled conditions Data & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and well-organized laboratory notebooks in accordance with company standards
  • Assist with data analysis, summaries, and interpretation of experimental results
  • Prepare written reports, tables, and figures for internal use and project reviews
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) Safety, Quality, and Operations
  • Follow all laboratory safety policies and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
  • Assist with routine laboratory operations, including equipment setup, calibration checks, and inventory management
  • Support general R D activities as needed to advance project timelines Collaboration & Professional Development
  • Work effectively as part of a cross‑functional R D team
  • Participate in technical discussions and project meetings
  • Learn best practices in industrial research, formulation development, and reproducible experimentation
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
  • Coursework in organic chemistry and analytical chemistry
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a laboratory environment Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior laboratory experience (internship, undergraduate research, or industry co‑op)
  • Familiarity with basic analytical techniques (e.g., GC, HPLC, IR, UV‑Vis)
  • Experience with scientific data analysis and report writing
