A postdoctoral position is available on an NIH funded research project aimed at understanding how poxviruses control innate immunity and viral pathogenesis through mTOR dysregulation in the laboratory of Dr. Derek Walsh. Dr. Walsh is a Professor at the Department of Microbiology-Immunology, Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, located in the heart of downtown Chicago beside Lake Michigan and the "Magnificent Mile". Our work employs cutting edge techniques that include genomic, proteomic and metabolic approaches, cryo-EM, super-resolution and multi-color live cell imaging, as well as automated and Deep Learning-based image analysis. For more information about our lab, please visit our website: http://labs.feinberg.northwestern.edu/walsh/ Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent with experience in basic molecular biology and tissue culture techniques. Additional experience or familiarity with one or more of the techniques listed above is a plus, but not a requirement. No prior postdoctoral or virology experience is required. Minimum Qualifications:
