You will guide a talented team in transforming innovative concepts into high-quality, market-ready products while ensuring rigorous safety and performance standards are met. Responsibilities Direct the daily workflow of formulation projects, ensuring all development milestones and phase-gate documentation are completed on schedule. Optimize laboratory throughput by coordinating team bandwidth and managing the sequencing of complex testing procedures. Maintain a culture of safety by enforcing strict compliance with OSHA regulations and managing comprehensive Safety Data Sheets. Oversee the transition of validated formulas from bench-top prototypes to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring seamless handoffs. Provide mentorship and technical coaching to team members, fostering professional growth and creative problem-solving skills. Manage laboratory inventory, equipment maintenance, and quality control protocols to ensure consistent product excellence. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field. 3+ years of professional experience in product formulation, specifically with creative materials like glazes, clays, or coatings. Demonstrated success in leading or mentoring small teams in a technical or laboratory environment. Strong proficiency in project management tools and documentation software. Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, including OSHA standards and material safety documentation. Preferred Skills Proven track record of managing product scale-up processes from lab to production. Experience with quality testing methodologies and analytical lab workflows. Strong artistic sensibility with a passion for developing high-quality creative materials. Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between technical development and operational manufacturing.
