We currently have a position available as a Chemist.
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Product Development Manager, this role researches, analyzes and experiments on substances for the purpose of product development, using principals of chemistry. This role will examine chemical compounds to determine how they interact with other chemicals, utilizing lab equipment and computers to conduct analyses.
KEY TASKS
Control raw material use and inventory Prepare chemical reagents, recognizing inconsistencies and problems Schedule, weigh, mix, package and test various adhesive formulas Follow and comply with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) Maintain laboratory work area and equipment Maintain laboratory documentation Execute long term research projects Assist in development of new products Review products for stability and consistency Formulate new adhesives Design experiments to develop new products Document trials for new product development Source raw and new material Write up new product work instructions, processes and reports Educate others to new products, materials and processes All other additional tasks assigned throughout course of employment
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Chemistry or Material Science or Equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
1+ year(s) experience preferred Use of variety of software platforms to include Microsoft software
KEY COMPETENCIES
Understand process and writing of work instructions Knowledge of chemical processes in adhesive manufacturing Ability to conceptualize new product and processes Ability to work with company disciplines to develop new concepts Effectively communicate new process details, both verbally and written
MANAGEMENT / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role has no management level over others or supervisor responsibilities
PROBLEM SOLVING / DECISION MAKING
This role will independently and aggressively attack complex problems and identify feasible or optimal solutions
