The right candidate will be exposed to techniques and perspectives not found in the academic arena. Required duties could include, but are not limited to: Hands on laboratory. In depth data analysis and engineering of new solutions Formulation of new cutting-edge materials and modification of existing products driving innovation and excellence. Customer interaction to ensure products meet customer needs and quality standards. Provide technical expertise and support to customers, delivering exceptional service and solutions. Data analysis and reporting. Take ownership of projects and initiatives, demonstrating responsibility and accountability. Support sales and marketing. Develop skills in management, customer service, and business operations, with an eye towards future leadership and management opportunities. Learn multiple facets of the company and product line to participate in overall navigation of the business and shape the vision for the future. Materials testing using a variety of equipment. Selecting and qualifying raw materials. Following and authoring test methods and procedures. Understanding of testing procedures, data and results. Objectively oversee manufacture of pilot batches
Requirements:
Min. 4 years college education in chemistry, biology, engineering or related field. At least 4 years hands-on formulation, commercial laboratory or testing experience. In depth polymer know-how Knowledge and understanding of most of the below topics: polymerization, epoxy resins, acrylate chemistry, coatings formulation, water-based system, principles of adhesive bonding, UV curable systems, tribology, materials testing. Interest only in analytical chemistry, quality control, environmental or water testing is not suited to this position. Must be high energy, inherently strive to grow and improve, be self-motivated with a business mindset, eager to take on challenges and drive results. Must be technical minded and expected to have excellent math, reading and logic skills. Must be highly reliable and have transportation. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Must be willing to work with chemicals, solvents, and acids. Must be eager to learn. All staff are expected to possess the following: o Responsible, mature attitude. o Full time, team-oriented work ethic. o Eager to learn and goal oriented. o Frequent absences are simply not acceptable. o Vision for improvement and good organization. o Appreciate the value of time.
