Job Description

  • Bioprocess R D Support Scientist
  • YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The primary responsibilities of this role, Bioprocess R D Support Scientist, are to: + Be responsible for strategic enablement and championing the Bioprocess Design team in STL supporting discovery and early phase mission teams.
Additionally, this role will work to identify and implement innovative technologies which enable development of novel and advanced biotechnological methods for the production of biomolecules across the R D pipeline; + Effectively builds up and manages the stakeholder network of Bioprocess Design throughout R D and champion Bioprocess design hub to design the strategy and enable key projects and business objectives of discovery and early phase; + Build and maintain key partnerships across the various mission teams, supporting mission goals with outstanding technical support (i.e. sample supply in time); + Maintain organizational capabilities as needed while supporting the hub team and a variety of mission teams to identify and co-create novel technologies with the potential to produce complicated biomolecules and improving overall biotechnological capabilities with a customer-centric mindset; + Implement continuous improvement projects and standardization to increase efficiency of operations and technological excellence, with special attention given to improvements in digitization and data access, constantly focusing on outcomes; + Design project proposals and regular contributions of constructive advice to projects not under own directions; + Collaborate within and beyond Bioprocess Design to identify and set goals to ensure outstanding commitment to internal partnerships delivering on commitments in-time and in-quality; + Inspire peers to reach their full potential by providing regular peer feedback and coaching in Bioprocess Design, establishing an environment dedicated to DSO behaviors and actively supporting peers through identifying project opportunities and driving personal development plans.

  • Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree; + Background in natural sciences (e.g. biotechnologist, biologist, biochemist, chemical engineer); + Demonstrates passion for coaching peers, focused on empowering as well as challenging peers to the best of their abilities; + Must be a role model in accepting feedback and coaching and be equally committed to both personal development and development of peers, focused on the best possible outcomes to serve the customer; + Strong service orientation demonstrates a robust level of understanding of key partners' needs and ownership to develop innovative solutions responding to the needs from R D; + Change champion within Bioprocess Design hub with strong desire to improve the status quo and inspire constant improvement; + Understanding of underlying biotechnological needs to propel research in the fields of biology, biochemistry and chemistry, exhibits ability to stay abreast of technical development in areas of expertise; + Thorough knowledge of methods in the fields of molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, fermentation technology, and downstream processing; + Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Ph.D. with 6 years of relevant experience; OR + Master's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; OR + Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience; + Background in natural sciences (e.g. biotechnologist, biologist, biochemist, chemical engineer) with 3 or more years of experience in the area of Bioprocess technologies or related field. This posting will be available for application until at least May X, 2026. Relocation may be offered for this role. Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $150,080.00 to $225,120.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
