Assistant/Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry Job Announcement Company Description Jackson State University, established in 1877, is a renowned institution committed to empowering students for success in a rapidly evolving world. Role Description We are seeking a dynamic and research-driven scholar to join our faculty.
The successful candidate will:
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Organic Chemistry and related disciplines Develop curriculum and supervise student research projects Build and sustain an externally funded, independent research program Publish original work in peer-reviewed journals Actively mentor students pursuing careers in chemistry and related fields Contribute to departmental service, academic advising, and community engagement Areas of interest include organic synthesis, reaction development, natural products, physical organic chemistry, biochemistry, and medicinal chemistry. Qualifications Ph.D. in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field (required) Postdoctoral research experience (required) Demonstrated research agenda with potential for external funding Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate student mentorship Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in securing research grants is a plus How to Apply Submit your application package through Jackson State University's official website.
