Job Description

The general responsibilities for this position include leading in the development & optimization of new & existing analytical methodologies. Applying innovative analytical techniques, new technologies & statistical approaches to ensure accurate & consistent results. The Analytical Chemist will support method development for the internal manufacturing of kilo-scale & multi-kilo pilot scale campaigns for development projects & multi-kilo scale campaigns of commercial products. The candidate may assist with technical service and laboratory requests. Oversight may also be required for analytical methodology transfer, validation, & the analysis of commercial campaigns at external contract manufacturing organizations. A PhD in analytical chemistry is required with a solid science background & a proven record of accomplishment in analytical method development. Strong chemistry skills are necessary with a technical background/experience in analytical chemistry, especially with developing methods utilizing
GC, HPLC, IR, UV, ICP, IC, XRF, DSC, AND TGA
instrumentation. The ability to identify compounds & elucidate structures utilizing
NMR, GCMS, & LCMS
is required. A minimum of ten (10) years of work experience developing methods is needed for an analytical research and/or analytical development environment. Must be current & active in the field while able to demonstrate expert knowledge in scientific principles & concepts both internally & externally with sustained performance & accomplishments. Must be able to communicate scientific information, both written & oral, to both technical & non-technical audiences & provide detailed documentation to support PMNs & patent applications. Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment & problem-solving capabilities. Strong organizational skills and good computer skills are necessary. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & PerkinElmer ChemOffice is required. Experience working in a regulated environment & understanding of current GLPs/GMPs as they apply to laboratory practices is a plus. Must be willing to work as part of a team & demonstrate good interpersonal skills Summary As an Analytical Chemist, you will be integral to our manufacturing processes, utilizing your expertise in analytical chemistry and various chromatographic techniques. Reporting to the laboratory manager, you will conduct experiments and analyses, ensuring compliance with GLP and FDA regulations. Your core skills in microscopy and laboratory experience, combined with premium skills in quality control and calibration, will support our commitment to excellence. Additionally, your proficiency in Microsoft Office and organizational skills will enhance data management and reporting, making you a vital asset to our team in advancing scientific innovation.
