Position Summary:
The Senior Chemist is responsible for assigned projects in the R D lab. This includes but is not limited to formulation development, shade approval, project timeline management, and regulatory support. This position can/will have technician levels reports. The Senior Chemist will be responsible for new product development for both customer and non-customer driven efforts. Do YOU Possess These Skills and Attributes? To excel as a Sr Chemist, you should have: Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field 5-10 years of formulation experience across personal care, powder, and lipstick shade expertise (Munsell color test ≤10 wrong)
Lab GMP Knowledge Responsibilities:
Formulation development in all categories of products produced by Process Technologies, powder, personal care and lipstick Regulatory support with knowledge of all related country restrictions and requirements for product dossier Customer interface and build personalized long lasting relationships with our key accounts Responsible for pilot and first production batches of ownership formulas Provide direction to manufacturing to ensure batching success or shade approval All aspects of lab maintenance and safety Order and replenish supplies as needed with management sign off Promote a clean and organized lab ready to show customers without notice Maintain all project timelines Be present and lead all pilots and first production batches thru filling Customer advocate through entire process of first PO Maintain a working set of clearly labeled product standards that are issued to QC or manufacturing Expertise to review and approve all production batches when called upon by executive team New development of non-customer driven projects should consume 20-30% of time Well versed R D technical representative at and prepare during presentations Meet continually with raw material vendors to establish best timing/pricing/terms and keep versed on all new technology offerings Maintain all new formulas and raw material codes in the MRP system BE THE Expert for your customer on all projects as well as being proactive in working with each new account. Anticipate the questions and road blocks for the customer, do not wait to react All others tasks assigned by Management Overtime expected on a project by project basis
