Job Description

The Laboratory Directory position will report to Chief Operating Officer and oversee the daily operations, personnel, safety and equipment within a laboratory. Key responsibilities are to enforce cGMP compliance ensuring documentation and qualifications are current, in addition to managing the daily lab activities and lab technicians within the Analytical Chemistry, Microanalysis labs and R&D labs. Responsibilities 1. Oversee day-to-day lab activities, including assisting lab technicians, management of schedules and continuous improvement of workflow processes. 1. Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and hazardous material protocols. 2. Manage lab inventory, purchase supplies and ensure lab equipment is maintained, calibrated and qualified. 3. Train and supervise lab technicians, ensure lab personnel adhere to Good Lab Practices. 4. Assist and author lab method process validation/qualification activities, and verification. 5. Perform initiation, investigations, root-cause analysis and disposition activities per lab out-of-specification investigation processes. 6. Ability to escalate quality concerns, perform procedures independently, and notify leadership if deviations are identified. 7. Perform Internal Quality Audits on Lab processes to continuously monitor process compliance and engage in audit readiness. 8. Continuously aid in identifying areas of improvement in process and compliance. 9. Responsible for the stability program for accelerated and long-term shelf-life studies, including designing, executing and auditing studies to ensure product compliance, quality and safety overtime. 10. Responsible for lab documentation - ensuring processes and reports are within compliance and current. 11. Other duties as assigned by the Chief Operating Officer. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Expertise in GMP and GLP best current practices. 2. Technical knowledge of laboratory equipment (such as but not limited to analytical balances, scales, FTIR, HPLC, GC, etc.). 3. Must have experience in technical documentation methods (e.g., laboratory notebook). 4. Experience in laboratory software. 5. Demonstrate ownership for the integrity of work. 6. Strong time management and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to communicate clearly with personnel. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related scientific field. 2. 2-3 years of experience in analytical chemistry and/or microbiology lab work in a regulated industry. 3. Knowledge in purified water systems is a plus. 4. Experience in OTC Topical Analgesic product industry preferred. 5.
