Job Description

Quanex is looking for a Research Chemist II to join our team located in Akron, Ohio . Summary This position will work with a team to develop and commercialize new products and improve existing products and processes.

Research Chemist II:
Formulate new products for existing business or new opportunities Conduct assigned research projects Search literature, patents and survey's expertise in-house for technical solutions and options Collect and summarizes data and writes summary reports Able to present detailed results of work in an organized manner to teams and internal groups Understand customer/product requirements and apply understanding to tasks/projects Proficient in basic laboratory experimental methods Familiar with Basic Experimental Design and analysis of results
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Macro-Molecular Science or related field of study. 2 - 6 years of experience in product development or improvement Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for recording, organizing and graphical analysis of data Familiar with word processor, email, and PowerPoint type software The salary range for this position is $69,900 to $87,000 w/ bonus potential.
