Job Description
Serán is seeking a Scientist I supporting Product Development who will support the formulation and design of pharmaceutical drug under the guidance of senior team members. A typical project requires defining the drug delivery and product design challenges, developing prototypes that address the challenges, and evaluating prototype performance. The successful candidate will pair a strong fundamental understanding of physical chemistry and material science with aptitude for hands-on execution, hypothesis-driven experimental design, and data analysis. The Scientist will collaborate with experts in process development and analytical sciences to form a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary project team that consistently meets milestones and objectives. \n Duties and Responsibilities Follows written protocols to execute basic and advanced procedures such as analytical protocols, laboratory experiments, or manufacturing processes Develops experimental protocols and templates with guidance Identifies out of trend data and proposes hypothesis and next steps with guidance Summarizes, reports, and analyzes data to draw conclusions with guidance Contributes to laboratory, instrument, and/or equipment maintenance and coordination Communicates technical information to internal team Communicates technical information to external partners with guidance Participates as technical lead in project teams with guidance Contributes to technical reports and presentations with guidance Responsibilities may increase in scope to align with company initiatives Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Scientific curiosity and willingness to learn Experience with basic laboratory skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Communicates effectively and maintains productive relationships with coworkers, clients, and other contacts outside the company Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in cross-functional teams Accepts and addresses feedback from a variety of sources and constructively manages conflict Education and Experience B.S. or higher in Science or Engineering discipline Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally Motor skills required for basic laboratory operations (pouring liquids, using utensils to transfer powders, visual assessments) \n
