Job Description

Spectra Tech is looking for a QC Chemist in Memphis, TN.
Job Description:
The quality chemist is responsible for ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.
Key Functions:
Performing Chemical Analysis:
Conducting tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to verify they meet established specifications. This includes using various analytical techniques like chromatography (HPLC, GC), spectroscopy (UV-Vis, IR), and titration. •
Operating and Maintaining Lab Equipment:
Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory instruments to ensure accurate and precise results. •
Documentation and Reporting:
Meticulously recording all test data, observations, and results. •
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and investigating any deviations from standard procedures or unexpected test results, often referred to as "out-of-specification" (OOS) results. • Adhering to
Safety and Compliance:
Following strict safety protocols and industry regulations such as Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field
Experience Level:
Experience:
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting Technical skills: Strong knowledge of organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry is essential. Proficient in laboratory techniques, analytical instrumentation, and data analysis software.
Instrumental Analysis:
Proficiency with core lab instruments like HPLC, GC, and spectrometers.
Wet Chemistry:
A solid understanding of classical analytical methods like titration and gravimetric analysis.
Data Analysis:
The ability to analyze and interpret data, often using statistical software and Microsoft Office applications.
