Job Description
Overview The Analytical Chemist1 performs routine analytical testing under supervision, supporting the generation of quality data to advance pharmaceutical development and manufacturing. Core Responsibilities Conduct routine analyses (e.g., HPLC, UV, KF, FTIR) following established methods and SOPs. Prepare samples, reagents, and standards; ensure proper instrument calibration and maintenance. Document experimental details and results accurately in lab notebooks and electronic systems. Support method development for raw materials, product intermediates, and products to support the safety and efficacy of clinical trial material. Assist in maintenance and calibration of instruments, coordinating service when required. Participate in laboratory housekeeping and safety initiatives to maintain a compliant environment. Support method qualification and transfer activities under guidance of senior chemists. Assist with inventory management and ordering of laboratory supplies. Escalate analytical issues to senior chemists and collaborate on resolutions. Draft methods, specifications, and analytical test methods. Other duties as assigned. Technical Competencies Basic understanding of chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques. Ability to follow methods and SOPs accurately and consistently. Knowledge of GMP/GLP concepts and data integrity principles. Competency in using laboratory software for data entry and instrument control. Understanding of sample preparation, dilutions, and basic calculations. Behavior Competencies Willingness to learn and take direction from senior scientists. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in executing experiments. Good time management and organizational skills. Effective communication of results and issues to colleagues. Works collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science. 0-2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or analytical laboratory. Familiarity with GMP documentation and Good Laboratory Practices.
