Production Chemist Texas Staffing Solutions San Antonio, TX Job Details Temporary | Temp-to-hire | Full-time $19•$22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Life insurance Referral program Qualifications GLP GMP Wet chemistry Bachelor's degree Chemistry Research & development Full Job Description A client on the Northeast side of San Antonio, TX is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chemist to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in wet chemistry techniques and product development. This role involves conducting scientific research, performing quality control, and ensuring compliance with GLP, CGMP, and
ISO 9001
standards. The Production Chemist will perform all types of analysis, tests, and investigations in connection with existing products and development of new and improved products relating to rare earth metal salts and solutions.
Responsibilities:
Product and process development, analysis, in processing compounds and solutions. Develop techniques for analyzing the finished products for quality assurance purposes. Adjusting Production batches for pH and % oxide specs. Operating and creating analytical instrument methods using the ICP-MS and ICP-OES (including MSF and standard addition methods) and interpreting the data Troubleshooting and performing basic preventative maintenance (PM) on instruments and logging information. Analyzing Request for Test (RFT) samples and sending out reports interpreting the data contained. Keeping forms and work instructions current as well as creating new forms and work instructions when necessary. Recognizing if samples or data are abnormal, handling and communicating the discrepancy to Production Chemistry or the Plant and writing a Non-Conformance Reports (NCR). Work with a sense of urgency. Striving to improve Lab quality, efficiency and consistency, including writing Preventative Action Requests (PAR). This includes creating and completing projects to meet those goals. Writing and closing any and/or all Production batch tickets, including creating and updating Formula Keys in Sage. Filling out Maintenance work orders, working with Maintenance to resolve problems and contacting instrument technical support to schedule service visits, if necessary. Reporting analytical data on certificates of analysis (CoA). Other duties as assigned.
Skills :
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field. 2-3 years experience in Chemistry, Research and Development, or related field. Working knowledge of pH, ISE, titrations, UV-Vis, specific gravity, ICP-MS and ICP-OES as well as wet chemistry techniques. Understanding quality control and familiarity with
ISO 9001
International Standard preferred.
Shift:
M-F 8 am•5 pm Potential to move to 10am-7pm once hired on
Starting Pay Rate:
$19•22/hr•performance-based pay increase upon conversion. Starting pay is dependent on experience. Benefits After 90
