Our R D team formulates new products and conducts tests and pilot studies. The R D team also works closely with customers and vendors. R D Scientist The R D Scientist position reports to the R D Manager. This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to ongoing R D Operations. The R D Scientist will perform a variety of formulating duties including, but not limited to assisting in the development and testing of new products and maintenance of current products, and assisting with sourcing, testing, and database maintenance of raw materials. This role will also be responsible for creating finished good specifications, supplement/nutrition fact panels, preliminary pricing quotes, and will act as a project/account manager for assigned customers. Develop and characterize new products and improve existing items. Assist with scale-up and bench-top formulas in the laboratory. Request ingredient information including required documentation, tier pricing and lead times. Create and maintain raw material specification. Prepare benchtop samples for shipment and customer/sales review. Modify current products to improve performance on manufacturing equipment. Participate as a team member, support the company mission and vision and contribute to the pursuit of the company's goals. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field) or 3 years' experience in laboratory, R D and/or Production field. 5+ years of R D/Lab experience. Strong communication and organizational skills. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently on multiple projects. Familiarity with regulatory standards including GMP. Experience in nutraceutical industry helpful, not required. Must be a US Citizen or have permanent resident status.
