DOE Job Responsibilities:
Conduct routine sample preparation and analysis procedures on a variety of sample matrices. Sample testing would involve crushing with lab-scale jaw crusher; extensive ball milling and rotating in cycles to complete protocols for hardness testing. Participate in the quality control by assisting in proficiency testing, routine audits, troubleshooting, and continuous process improvements. Utilize analytical methods, standard operating procedures, and laboratory data systems to ensure data integrity, compliance, and good laboratory practices. Laboratory analyses utilized have currently developed SOP's.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or similar required. 2+ years of Lab experience. Knowledge or familiarity of the principles and methods used in chemical, laboratory and quality assurance analysis. Skilled in use of computer operations, including Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn laboratory-specific protocols. Neat, legible record keeping, a safe-work attitude and proficient writing and computer skills are mandatory attributes. Self-motivated to learn new techniques and instrumentation and able to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Experience in mineral processing and/or mineralogy analytical work a plus
ISO 9000
experience a plus. Laboratory Information Management System implementation experience a plus. Current MSHA is a plus

$25.00 - $40.00 per hour
