Job Description
The chemist will:
Develop formulations and experiments for the purpose of color matching Perform routine quality control testing procedures for incoming and outgoing products and samples to ensure compliance to customer and FSW standards and specifications. Support production scale up trials Support customer trials and or troubleshooting as needed Work with production staff in ensuring product conformation to set standards, making adjustments and recommendations as necessary. Conduct necessary tests experiments as directed by lab management. Maintain detailed logs of lab work and incoming vendor and customer samples.Conduct R D experiments:
design/development/commercialization Enter testing data into the company ERP system. Prepare samples of products for marketing materials and sales staff. Compile and interpret results of tests and analysis.Prepare technical documents:
SOPs, WI, TDS, SDS, COA requests as needed. Coordinate with production operators, other labs and management for continuous improvement opportunities. Make technical recommendations on suppliers and their raw materials Support ourISO 9001
2015 program Maintain a clean work environment up to 5S standards by routinely cleaning work area and equipment and documenting compliance. Perform all other related duties as assigned Our chemist will need: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry Demonstrated formulation success in paints, stains, coatings centered around polymers, pigment and or dyes required. Knowledge of colorants, resins, additives and the safe handling and uses of chemicals, including their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Three to seven years of prior experience in commercial/manufacturing industry preferred. Ability to operate lab equipment such as a UV-Vis spectrophotometer, XRF, and others. High proficiency with arithmetic, reading comprehension, and language skills Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain quality control conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Ability to use Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel and other software. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
