Job Summary
The Clinical Research Coordinator supports innovative clinical research within Nephrology, with a focus on chronic kidney disease, while contributing to high-quality, patient-centered care. Under the direction of the supervisor, Principal Investigator(s), and research team, this role coordinates both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies, ensuring efficient study execution and a positive participant experience.
The CRC is responsible for coordinating all aspects of clinical research activities, including study start-up, participant recruitment and screening, informed consent, enrollment, visit scheduling, data collection, and documentation. The position works closely with investigators and research staff to ensure regulatory compliance, data integrity, and successful study outcomes.
This role also provides cross-coverage support to additional Internal Medicine research units, including Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, and Rheumatology, and serves as a key contributor within the clinical research coordination team.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: study start-up activities, subject recruitment, screening, informed consent, enrollment, visit scheduling, data collection, participant tracking, and study-related documentation.
This position is grant-funded, office and clinic-based, and may require overtime or on-call as necessary to support recruitment and trial management. Responsibilities may shift based on workload and division needs.

Minimum Qualifications
- For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload a license and/or certification if required for the position
High School graduation or GED equivalent and/or equivalent experience/training and/or demonstrated skills to successfully perform the assigned duties and responsibilities
1 year of experience in research or clinical trials, such as an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator or similar role Experience working independently and/or cooperatively as a team member in a diverse workforce Ability to maintain large volumes of electronic and paper medical records with accuracy and attention to detail
Skills and experience in independently organizing tasks and setting priorities for work assignments to achieve timely progress on multiple tasks simultaneously, to meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of productivity Intermediate level computer skills for word-processing programs, database programs, and data management
Excellent oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely provide information, explanations, and instructions to, and to elicit information from participants, participants' families, physicians, clinic staff, and a wide variety of health care professionals with varying levels of ability to understand
Intermediate level knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and university (or similar) regulations for clinical research under Investigational New Drug and Institutional Review Board (IRB) guidelines (or similar)
Knowledge of basic anatomy, medical terminology, and the ability to interpret physicians' notes, medical records, laboratory, and scan results
Knowledge and understanding of disease processes
Preferred Qualifications
