Job Description
Position Summary The Faja Lab is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) who will work on a clinical trial that is collecting EEG, parent-report measures, and lab-based assessments from school-aged autistic children at Boston Children's Hospital. Along with the responsibilities below, the Clinical Research Assistant will also contribute to other clinical research projects focused on autism in the Faja Lab, which is part of the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience (LCN). The LCN is dedicated to furthering our understanding of brain and cognitive development in children diagnosed with or at higher likelihood of various neurodevelopmental disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of researchers brings together experts from a wide range of fields, including neuroscience, psychology, and education in collaboration with clinical experts in fields such as developmental pediatrics and child neurology. The CRA will be involved in all aspects of the research process with close mentorship from the principal investigator (Dr. Susan Faja), with opportunities to work directly with both English and Spanish speaking research participants and their families. Key Responsibilities Recruit and schedule research participants Run experimental study sessions Administer behavioral assessments and EEG measures Provide behavioral support to children during study visits Coordinate collection of surveys from parents and teachers Perform data entry and manage research data Assist in delivering behavioral interventions (e.g., coaching children during computer-based activities) Ensure high levels of data integrity for clinical trial work Coordinate and train research interns (as needed) Contribute to data processing, scoring, and data cleaning Assist with data analysis and dissemination of findings
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, cognitive science, neuroscience, or related fieldExperience:
Ability to communicate with people of diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The CRA will be completing assessments of children in English and Spanish. Therefore, English and NATIVE Spanish speaking fluency is required. Must be listed on resume. Experience working with children, and/or under-represented populations Availability for flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends Computer skills and experience with data management software (e.g., Excel, Redcap) Previous professional experience with children, including at least one year of experience (paid or unpaid) working in a research setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of motivation; ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent problem-solving abilities, organization, and attention to detail A 2-year commitment to the positionSimilar jobs in Brookline, MA
