Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Behavioral Health Springboard ( BHS) at the School of Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill links current research to initiatives in mental health and substance use disorder treatment systems. BHS offers curricula development, technical assistance, program consultation, and face-to-face and online educational programs. Collaboration between the university and the community (local, regional/state, global) is mutually beneficial for the exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity. These exchanges enrich scholarship and research; enhance curriculum, teaching and learning; prepare educated, engaged citizens; strengthen values and civic responsibility; address critical societal issues; and contribute to the public good. Our training resources, products, and experienced staff help organizations design effective service delivery systems and assist with the transitions needed to implement evidenced based practices for improved client outcomes and systems efficiencies. The Center of Excellence Technical Assistant Program purpose is to expand and improve the quality and availability of services for NC children and families by preparing external stakeholders, creating internal alignment within DHHS and supporting caregivers with accessing innovative services and supports. The key goal of the Center of Excellence Technical Assistant Program is to facilitate cross-unit, cross division and cross program leadership while also forming public-private and community partnerships while engaging this community of practice in on-going continuing education, training and technical assistance. Position Summary The Center of Excellence Social Clinical Research Assistant will report to the BHS Assistant Director of Administrative Services and Operations and will collaborate with the Center of Excellence Program Manager to monitor, track and report research data associated with Center of Excellence Technical Assistant Program. For the Center of Excellence Technical Assistant Program, the Center of Excellence Social Clinical Research Assistant will track training course development and participant attendance; evaluate participant engagement and instructor effectiveness, and report course/instructor evaluation data for in-person and virtual training offerings. Data collected across this program will be used to inform the development of program policies, topics for trainings, consultation needs, and other continuous improvement processes. This position will support the development and facilitation of in-person and virtual training offerings including hosting duties and responsibilities. This position will collaborate with the Center of Excellence Program Manager to report and post evaluation findings and results on the BHS website and the Center of Excellence Technical Assistant Program webpage. This is a time-limited, full time (1.0 FTE) position with guaranteed funding through December 31, 2027. Valid driver license is needed, as this position will require up to 25% travel across NC. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Management Preferences- Ability to manage workload both independently and collaboratively without immediate direct supervision.
- Ability to think critically to solve complex logistical problems involving diverse populations (eg. schools, community-based nonprofits, university, state entities).
- Approachable, calm demeanor that fosters open communication among diverse stakeholders.
- Experience using data to solve problems and develop a continuous quality improvement process.
- Ability to perform statistical analyses using both qualitative and quantitative data sets, data collections, and using software tools (eg. Qualtrics, Microsoft Excel, Wordpress). Required Licenses/Certifications Special Physical/Mental Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Personally accessible vehicle for transporting training materials and supplies to in state training sites.
