Job Title:
Clinical Research Nurse Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Nurse to join our team and play a pivotal role in the safe and effective conduct of clinical trials. You will assist investigators in the preparation and implementation of new clinical trials, screen and enroll participants, and provide comprehensive protocol-related clinical management. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Protocol Activation office to initiate and activate new clinical trial protocols using the Study-start up task list. Prepare and review study tools, verify approvals, and ensure the scientific and financial readiness of studies prior to activation. Conduct one-on-one or group protocol-related nursing education to ensure safe patient care. Translate finalized protocol treatment plans into sample orders. Work with the clinical research team to ensure timely prescreening of potential subjects for clinical trials. Review patient charts and medical history to confirm eligibility and manage informed consent processes. Provide back-up support for patient registration with study sponsors and maintain the OnCore® clinical trials database. Serve as a critical link between patients and the research team, addressing any challenges and ensuring protocol adherence. Coordinate protocol-specified treatments and manage patient reimbursement on clinical trials. Deliver high-quality oncology nursing care in coordination with clinical teams and ancillary departments. Drive collaboration across medical system staff to ensure timely delivery of services to patients. Grade adverse events and ensure accurate documentation and reporting of Serious/Unexpected Adverse Events. Ensure compliance with research protocols and assist with monitoring visits and audits. Maintain research records for screened and enrolled patients. Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations throughout the research process. Essential Skills Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. One year of oncology experience required. Three to five years of oncology research experience preferred. Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) certification as an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse (AOCN) preferred. Certification as a Clinical Research Analyst (CRA) or Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) preferred. Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in computer applications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills. Proficient in computer applications such as Word and Excel. Resourceful and able to maximize resources effectively. Equivalent education, experience, and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement. We conduct innovative research, offer cutting-edge patient-centered care, and develop new therapies to decrease cancer incidence and mortality. The team is located across multiple sites, including Newark, and operates 300 active trials with a goal of enrolling 2,500 subjects per year across all phases, including adult and pediatric trials. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livingston, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
