Reno, NV Job Details Full-time $116,289.42 - $140,047.48 a year 4 days ago Qualifications BC/BE Pediatrics Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Newborn Pediatric Hospitalist (MD/DO) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive inpatient care for neonates and newborns within a hospital setting, ensuring the highest standards of medical excellence and patient safety.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality newborn care in a collaborative, well-supported environment with academic affiliation and access to comprehensive pediatric subspecialty services . Responsibilities Perform newborn nursery examinations Conduct circumcisions Participate in teaching pediatric residents and medical students Pediatric intensivists Hospitalists Neonatologists Work closely with dedicated newborn nursing staff (transitional, newborn, and couplet care) Utilize Certified Lactation Specialist support available 365 days/year INDITP Experience Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with board certification or eligibility in pediatrics or neonatology. Proven experience working within a Level I or Level II trauma center or similar high-acuity hospital environment. Demonstrated expertise in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) management, including ventilator management and neurocritical care. Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools such as CT scans, nuclear medicine, diagnostic radiology, and medical imaging techniques relevant to neonatal assessment. Experience utilizing EMR systems like Epic or similar electronic health records for inpatient documentation. Knowledge of pediatric subspecialties including cardiology, endocrinology, immunology, infectious disease care, rheumatology, gastroenterology, nephrology, neurology, and ophthalmology. Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT coding for procedures, ICD coding for diagnoses, and clinical research protocols. Ability to perform procedures such as IV infusions, wound care (including ostomy management), spinal taps, and basic surgical suturing techniques. Prior involvement in hospital medicine or pediatric critical & intensive care units is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and families across diverse populations.
