Job Summary:
Clinical Research Assistant participates in the data collection, maintenance, and reporting, and/or patient interfacing activities for clinical and translational research studies within the Department of Anesthesiology with oversight from the College of Medicine (COM) Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM).This role involves assisting with clinical research in accordance with approved protocols, including therapeutic studies involving interventions like mindfulness, medication, or devices. Key patient-facing duties include assessing patient records to identify eligible participants, recruiting, interviewing, and enrolling patients, obtaining informed consent, and educating participants on the study process. CRA coordinates patient appointments and procedures, administers standardized diagnostic, psychological, or behavioral testing and calculates scoring, and may collect, process, and evaluate biological samples. Administrative and support tasks include assisting with the collection, entry, and maintenance of clinical research data into study databases, preparing documentation for research progress reports, completing Institutional Review Board (IRB) and sponsor study documents, and assisting with the preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Health Sciences or medical field, or equivalent combination of education experience required. Experience Required No prior experience is required. Preferred Experience 2-4 years of relevant experience is preferred. Experience in research capacity desired; knowledge or experience in specialty may be desired; Preferred Skills Phlebotomy skills may be desired; experience performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens may be desired; computer skill required with knowledge of database software applications desired.

Work Schedule:
Business hours (Monday-Friday); however, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours will be required in this role as dictated by the clinical research being conducted. This is a patient facing position and is required to be onsite at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
