Job Description

Job Summary The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will facilitate brain donation, including obtaining consent from next of kin (NOK), and clinical, medical, and educational information on brain tissue donors. The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for participating in the 24/7 on-call schedule, plus follow up of approximately 25% of the donations that come to Autism BrainNet. For autistic donors, the CRC will carry out postmortem Autism Diagnostic Interview
  • Revised (ADI-R), or attempt to confirm autism diagnosis through systematic collection and examination of medical/educational records.
The CRC will input all donor-related data into the database. Additionally, the CRC will manage and carry out special projects as requested to support trending researcher and programmatic interests.

  • Revised (ADI-R) raw data into database Experience writing Clinical Notes and Assessment Summaries Demonstrated work experience and knowledge of research principles and ethics, ability to follow protocols, and to use the internet for research Previous experience in consenting research participants Previous experience working with families of autistic and neurodivergent individuals, including those with rare genetic disorders Direct experience and oversight responsibilities in data management.
Proven ability in collecting, checking and analyzing data and creating lists and reports Experience with bereavement support Experience in obtaining tissue banking consent and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements Experience working with individuals who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability and/or other neurodevelopmental disorders in a professional setting Ability to assimilate various test data and medical records into a donor summary for research use Organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining large volumes of data, to determine workload priorities to independently accomplish tasks/goals and meet deadlines Demonstrated ability to use word processing and other computer software to type from verbal/written instructions with speed and accuracy; to read, compose and edit documents with an excellent working knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and excellent proofreading skills Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software such as Excel to perform mathematical tasks accurately, create and edit data, and create documents Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, electronic calendaring and email software (Outlook) Evidence of certificates of completion for Clinical Research courses.
