Westat has an immediate opening for a Research Assistant to contribute to ongoing health research exploring genetic, clinical, and environmental factors influencing cancer in individuals, families, and broader populations. This is supporting a project with the National Cancer Institute. This is a full-time position to work at our client site in Rockville, Maryland at least 3 days/week and from your home office 2 days/week.

Job Responsibilities:

Working with nurses and other members of an interdisciplinary team to collect data. Data entry into various tracking systems Ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the data collected utilizing various tracking systems. Requesting medical records, imaging, and reports and pathology material from outside institutions Supporting clinical activity at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center and in the field. Facilitating specimen collection (assembling collection kits, communicating with lab and research participants, etc.) Providing administrative support as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in health or social science or related fields. At least one year of experience in research and/or clinical work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with specimen collection, processing and shipping. Demonstrated communication skills. Collaboration with teams, managers and/or clients. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced area. Organization skills, including time management ability. Detail oriented. • Clinical Research Pay Range The anticipated salary range for this role is $50,000 to $60,000 commensurate with experience.
