Clinical Research Assistant Clinical Research Assistant Position Overview:
Diabetes & Endocrine Treatment Specialists (DETS) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our research team. This position supports clinical trials involving medications and medical devices related to diabetes, endocrinology, obesity, and metabolic health. We are looking for someone with prior clinical research experience who can help support day-to-day research activities with minimal training. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining accurate documentation and data entry. Workload is steady, with some days busier than others. This role is a good fit for someone who already has some exposure to clinical research and is looking to continue building their experience in a supportive specialty clinic environment.

Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required Bachelor's degree in healthcare, science, or a related field preferred
Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of clinical research experience required Healthcare or patient care experience preferred Experience with EKGs, specimen collection/processing/shipping, EDC data entry, and sponsor query resolution preferred BLS or Phlebotomy certification preferred Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, CNA, CMA, Telemetry Technician, Laboratory Technician, or similar clinical role is a plus Diabetes or endocrinology knowledge/experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Basic understanding of GCP/ICH guidelines and clinical research workflows. Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and data entry. Good organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Ability to learn research and sponsor software systems. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic clinical procedures preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist investigators and research staff with daily clinical trial activities including participant screening, recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and visit reminders. Prescreen patient charts using the EMR/EHR to identify potential study candidates. Perform patient assessments including vital signs such as height, weight, blood pressure, and BMI, and assist with study-related data collection and documentation. Assist with study procedures, specimen collection, processing, and shipping. Enter and maintain accurate data within Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems and assist with sponsor query resolution. Review and maintain source documents, study files, and research records while helping maintain organized and accurate study documentation. Coordinate study visits, follow-ups, laboratory procedures, and protocol-related activities. Communicate effectively with sponsors, monitors, investigators, patients, and clinic staff. Provide general administrative and organizational support for research operations as needed.
Technical Competencies:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems. Familiarity with EDC systems and clinical research documentation preferred.

There may be opportunities for increased responsibility and advancement within the research team for strong performers.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday during normal day shift clinic hours. Typical clinic hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with no weekends. An optional 4x10 schedule may be available depending on experience and clinic needs. The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. We are looking for someone full-time Monday - Friday, with consideration for 4/10s - Day shift, no weekends
