Job Description
Director of Clinical Research Position Description Position Summary The Director of Clinical Research will establish and lead Tribal Health's research portfolio, anchoring the organization as a key partner in federally funded, community-engaged, clinicaltranslation and implementation-focused research. This position is foundational to Tribal Health's expansion into the research landscape. Without dedicated leadership, research opportunities will remain fragmented or inaccessible, partnerships with academic institutions may not reach full potential, and Tribal Health's unique access and infrastructure will remain underutilized. With this role in place, Tribal Health can transition from a service-based organization to a research-enabled organization, significantly expanding its impact, funding streams, and national presence. Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Tribal Health's research strategy
- Establish partnerships with academic institutions, Tribal communities, and funding agencies
- Serve as Co-Investigator or Multiple PI on NIH, HRSA, PCORI, and foundation grants
- Design and oversee implementation of community-engaged research programs
- Build research infrastructure (regulatory processes, workflows, staffing models)
- Lead grant development, including concept development and collaboration building
- Ensure compliance with Tribal, federal, and institutional research requirements
