The Psychology Department at Mount Saint Mary's University (Los Angeles) invites applicants with a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, for a full-time, 12-month Tenure Track position in our APA Accredited PsyD in Clinical Psychology program, starting August 1, 2026. The successful candidate for this position will demonstrate outstanding commitment to teaching diverse students from traditionally underserved populations, experience teaching graduate students in a clinical training program, as well as familiarity with APA Accreditation. Our program was recently awarded APA Accreditation (on contingency) and will plan to apply for full Accreditation within two years. Primary responsibilities include teaching doctoral-level courses in clinical psychology, specifically courses that address both the applied and scientific foundations of psychology. Additional duties include ongoing program development, ongoing APA accreditation processes, and chairing dissertation committees. Other faculty responsibilities include advising and mentoring graduate students, scholarship/research, and participation in department and university service. This position will also require supporting faculty who are chairing or co-chairing student dissertations in the psychology department. The ideal candidate will have training or experience appropriate for a research methodologist with expertise in the areas of critical qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods, and community-based participatory research. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to teaching research design, quantitative methods and statistics, and qualitative methodology. Candidates can also expect to teach clinical courses, especially those courses within their own interests and expertise.
Position Annual Hiring Salary Range:
$90,000 - $95,000 Hiring salary can be above the posted pay range if candidate's qualifications are determined to be above the minimum requirements of the position description.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Counseling, Clinical psychology or closely related field. This candidate will demonstrate successful doctoral teaching, and dissertation research mentorship as well as a plan for research productivity at the time of appointment.
Other preferred qualifications:
Because MSMU is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), applicants who can demonstrate both a commitment to improving access to higher education and effective mentoring of students from underrepresented backgrounds will be particularly competitive. An appreciation of the liberal arts tradition of education and service orientation, as well as experience or interest in contributing to and teaching in a diverse campus environment are required. Additionally, candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in social justice. An understanding of the campus' Catholic mission is also a plus.
