Job Description

Description The Executive Director, Experimental Medicine - Immunology will provide leadership for early clinical development and experimental medicine within the Therapeutic Area (TA). This role focuses on advancing proof-of-concept studies and supporting global development plans. The incumbent will contribute to shaping clinical strategy and ensuring scientific rigor in early-phase programs. This role will drive operational excellence and foster collaboration across functions to deliver high-quality clinical outcomes aligned with TA objectives. The Executive Director, Experimental Medicine influences portfolio progression and scientific reputation but with a narrower enterprise impact compared to VP level. Duties & Responsibilities Clinical & Scientific Leadership:
Contributes to development and execution of early clinical plans for the TA. Ensures timely delivery of Phase I-IIb studies with scientific integrity and regulatory compliance. Maintains awareness of emerging science and competitor activities; applies insights to optimize study design and execution. Reviews and provides input on protocols, reports, and publications.
Team Leadership:
Provides guideance to a team of clinical scientists and physicians, fostering collaboration and high performance. Promotes innovation and operational excellence within early development teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partners with Research, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations to ensure alignment and smooth execution. Participates in governance discussions and provides recommendations to support decision-making.
External Engagement:
Represents the organization in scientific forums and with key opinion leaders as appropriate. Supports preliminary evaluations for potential in-licensing opportunities Requirements MD or MD/PhD in relevant medical specialty/Therapeutic Area required Cell therapy experience
Scientific Expertise:
Solid understanding of disease biology, clinical trial design, and translational medicine.
Leadership:
Ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams.
Strategic Execution:
Skilled in implementing clinical plans aligned with TA objectives.
Communication:
Strong ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
Regulatory Knowledge:
Familiarity with global drug development and compliance requirements.
Innovation:
Experience applying novel approaches in early clinical development.
Eligibility Requirements :
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required). Must be 18 years of age or older.
Compensation Data Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $280,000 to $441,000. The position may be eligible for a role specific discretionary bonus, relocation, and/or other compensation elements. We continuously review market data and may adjust salary ranges as needed in the future. Actual compensation will be based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications, and other factors permitted by law.
