IBBR is a joint research enterprise of the University of Maryland, College Park, the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. IBBR leverages state-of-art integrative methods for bioanalytical, biophysical and structural characterization of biomolecules: cryo-electron microscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, x-ray crystallography, small angle neutron and x-ray scattering and mass spectrometry. IBBR researchers seek to advance therapeutic development, biomanufacturing, and state-of-the-art measurement technologies, to support accelerated delivery of safe and effective medicines to the public. MPowering the State (MPower), an initiative designed to achieve innovation and impact through collaboration. Job Summary:
Coordinator will support specialized research environments at IBBR, the greenhouse, Plant Transformation Facility (PTF), Insect Transformation Facility (ITF), and other areas that need additional support beyond basic lab support (e.g., gas delivery and maintenance). Responsibilities include the coordination of facility use, operations and maintenance, procurement of consumable supplies, capital equipment and service contracts and staff assigned. Physical Demands:
Work is performed in both an office environment and in the lab. Coordinator will be required to perform hands-on tasks as well as to inspect the work of others, which will require the ability to work in hazardous or irritating environments, including tight spaces, lifting up to 50lbs, bending, stooping, working at heights, and other adverse conditions. Coordinator must be able to wear and work in personal protective equipment. This position is considered to be "Essential Personnel" subject to 24 hour 7 day/week span of operations. Work is generally performed during normal working hours however it is expected that those in this position work whenever necessary to ensure the facility is running safely and efficiently at all times. Licenses/ Certifications:
Must maintain a valid class C Maryland Driver's license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points. Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience:

Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of laboratory environments. Knowledge of regulatory agency regulations, policies and guidance. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
