Job Description
Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Environmental Manager, the role of the Environmental Coordinator is to support and strengthen the environmental competencies across the organization and to ensure regulatory compliance. The Environmental Coordinator must be an active participant in field presence auditing and recordkeeping. This role will serve as an on-site contact for waste contractors, inspectors, and other Kosmos personnel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a commitment to adhering to and improving the environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Air, water, waste, EPCRA, and federally threatened & endangered species compliance. Performing fieldwork and gathering data for reporting (ex: stormwater sampling, waste collection processes, etc.). Environmental reporting and recordkeeping. Preparing and furnishing data for audits, as requested. Assisting plant leadership in their communications with inspectors and the community. Conducting audits and inspections periodically to confirm compliance with applicable company and regulatory requirements. Supporting the Company's associated cement terminal operations, as needed. Drafting permit applications and compliance plans. Provide general environmental administration support, as requested.Qualifications & Competencies:
Must be highly organized; ability to manage multiple projects, and provide accurate, agreed-upon deliverables in a timely manner. Strong time management skills; must be able to handle multiple projects and prioritize work according to strict deadlines. Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to influence others. Ability and desire to work as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Power Point, Word), PDF, database systems. Must be willing to attend training and seminars to expand knowledge of the role as required. Education and/orExperience:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related technical degree preferred. 3 years of relatable work experience; MSHA and OSHA experience preferred. Strong on the job experience in an environmental related position, at an industrial facility, in lieu of a degree in environmental science or related technical degree.Travel Requirements :
