If so, we want to speak with you about becoming our next Wetland Scientist. The position is available in Northborough, Massachusetts. You will be part of a small team supporting our natural resource permitting and construction compliance projects. As a Wetland Scientist, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including wetland delineation, construction site inspections, project reporting, permitting assistance, and Conservation Commission meeting attendance. Requirements to Succeed To succeed in this role, you'll need to:- Have excellent communication skills and follow up with the project team and clients.
- Complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction.
- Exercise professional judgment with strong attention to detail.
- Be highly organized with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Communicate with clients in a professional manner
- Communicate with contractors and other professionals in a concise manner
- Prepare written reports using technical writing In a nutshell, we're looking for someone who can deliver the work with little supervision, pays attention to the details, knows when to ask for help, and is a natural at taking care of the client.
- Perform wetland delineations and wetland permitting (NOI, 401/404, etc.).
- Perform construction inspection and reporting.
- Represent projects and clients at Conservation Commission hearings.
- Interact with clients and contractors as directed by your Team Leader.
- Be able to work in a variety of field conditions that involve working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and terrain, at times for several consecutive hours. Qualifications To be considered for this role, we'd prefer you have:
- A bachelor's degree in environmental science or a similar discipline.
- Experience with soils and plants of New England
- Ability to read and interpret site plans.
- Experience and knowledge of state and local wetland regulations.
- Experience working with contractors.
- GIS experience.
- Experience preparing reports using technical writing.
