Back Environmental Specialist#2014911 Detroit, Michigan, United StatesApply X Facebook LinkedIn Email Copy Job Description The Environmental Specialist position is responsible to implement and administer standardized processes to ensure compliance to Federal, State, Provincial and Local regulations and Corporate Policies and Procedures. This specific position will focus on environmental compliance, Stellantis Industrial System (SIS) environmental domain activities, Environmental Management System (EMS 14001), and environmental improvement goals. This position will help achieve world class status and impact corporate savings through the elimination of environmental impacts and implementation of projects to improve environmental operational efficiency.
The Environmental Specialist position will report to the Head of US Manufacturing Environmental Compliance and be responsible for and not limited to:
Manage routine environmental reports, environmental compliance tasks, tracking, inventories and surveys; including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, review, and approvalExperience with various environmental requirements, such as waste, water, pollution prevention, air permitting, wastewater, emergency response, tanks, stormwaterImplement environmental training programs and training assessments to ensure required training is identified and conductedConduct and participate in regular audits (compliance, ISO, SIS) of processes and track/implement follow up to ensure compliance and advise plant leadership and corporate staff of findingsAnalyze environmental incidents, determine root causes, implement/support corrective action and communicate this information to plant leadership and corporate teamSupport new equipment programs at the concept stage to ensure that environmental design specifications and regulations are includedCoordinate communication of environmental regulatory inspections and audits with leadershipAssist with emergency response activitiesIdentify, support, and/or implement projects to improve key environmental performance metricsSupport the implementation and maintenance of the plant's environmental management system in accordance with
Basic understanding of federal, state, provincial and local environmental regulations and requirementsWillingness to work on any shift and additional hours, as requiredRepresent Stellantis in a professional mannerCandidate must have integrity and strong work ethicEffective written and verbal communication skillsProfessional and able to communicate with various levels of businessStrong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient use of Microsoft Office suite and/or other software

Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related fieldMinimum of five years of relevant environmental compliance experience such as auditing, consulting, manufacturing, etc.Basic understanding of federal, state, provincial and local environmental regulations and requirementsWillingness to work on any shift and additional hours, as requiredRepresent Stellantis in a professional mannerCandidate must have integrity and strong work ethicEffective written and verbal communication skillsProfessional and able to communicate with various levels of businessStrong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient use of Microsoft Office suite and/or other software
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Environmental, Engineering, Science or related fieldStrong understanding of federal, state, provincial and local environmental regulations and requirementsEnvironmental related professional and regulatory certifications (e.g.PE, CHMM, RCRA, DOT
