Job Description

Living In Victory (LIV) Recovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to serving individuals who are living with mental health and substance use disorders and are in the early stages of treatment. LIV prioritizes making a meaningful difference for the community it supports. The organization fosters a collaborative and professional environment, celebrating the strengths of its employees. LIV emphasizes maintaining high standards for its programs and facilities, while also encouraging both personal and organizational development.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Certified Peer Support Specialist is an essential team member who must have completed a state-approved or national Peer Support Specialist Training program. Candidates should have experience in peer support and a background in substance use or mental health recovery. Their lived experience enables them to offer authentic empathy and hope, helping clients see that recovery is achievable.
EXPERIENCE
Lived experience with substance use disorders, mental health disorders, and/or homelessness. Minimum of one year in continuous recovery. Proficient in reading, writing, and oral communication in English. Strong computer skills, including accurate data entry and retrieval.

EDUCATION
High school diploma or
GED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Peer Support Training Certificate, (required if not a graduate in the field of mental health studies) CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred) Work Environment and Physical Requirements
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Applicants must be able to work in a variety of environmental settings.
