Water Quality Analyst - Stormwater Management Division Use science, data, and environmental expertise to help safeguard the City's streams, waterways, and natural resources. The City of Greensboro is seeking a highly analytical and environmentally focused Water Quality Analyst to support the Stormwater Management Division through scientific analysis, project management, regulatory compliance, and environmental monitoring. $59,903.00 - $61,603.00Full Salary Range :

About the Department The Stormwater Management Division works to protect Greensboro's streams, lakes, and waterways through environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, watershed management, and public infrastructure planning. Manage and analyze water quality monitoring data and prepare detailed reports Perform scientific analysis and interpretation of environmental sampling results Serve as project manager for special studies, research initiatives, and environmental projects Identify and pursue grant opportunities and assist with environmental program development Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs), manage contracts, and oversee consultant work Conduct inspections of industrial facilities to ensure environmental compliance Coordinate biological sampling programs to assess aquatic community health in City streams Perform water quality modeling and pollutant loading analysis using advanced technical software Provide technical assistance to City staff, researchers, regulatory agencies, and the public Interpret and apply local, state, and federal environmental regulations and policies Conduct fieldwork in stream environments and varying weather conditions Potential Career Path Employees in this role may advance into positions such as: Senior Environmental Analyst ? Bachelor's Degree "OR" an equivalency of an Associate's Degree plus 4 years of related work experience "OR" an equivalency of a High School Diploma, and" 3 years of education with 6+ years of "related" work experience 1-3 years of related experience analyzing and monitoring water quality data and/or Stormwater Management. Must be proficient with computer applications such as MS Office, etc.Valid Driver's License Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geography, Chemistry, Ecology, Zoology, Geology, or Natural Resources Related work experience and/or education in the area of Pollution Prevention, Water Quality monitoring, and/or Stormwater Management Related work experience and/or education in performing stormwater inspections of Industrial Facilities and Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs).Requirements Work Schedule :
