About Us - Mako Mining Corp is a publicly listed gold mining, development and exploration company. The Company operates the high-grade San Albino gold mine in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua, which ranks as one of the highest-grade open pit gold mines globally and offers district-scale exploration potential. Mako also holds a 100% interest in the Eagle Mountain Project in Guyana, South America. Mako US Corp (a subsidiary of Mako Mining Corp.) owns the Moss Mine, an open pit gold mine in Arizona and also owns the Mt. Hamilton Mine in Nevada. Mt. Hamilton LLC is currently seeking a qualified person for the position of Environmental Manager. About this role - Environmental Manager The role of Environmental Manager will lead and oversee the environmental permitting, design and management of our large-scale open pit mine. This is an exciting opportunity where you'll play a key role in ensuring compliance with both legal and contractual environmental requirements for the project, while also supporting our long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility. You will report to the General Manager and be based at Mt. Hamilton mine. Responsibilities Oversee all environmental operations, construction, exploration, and monitoring activities to ensure they are managed in accordance with relevant regulations, policies, and standards. Assess the environmental impacts associated with project activities, and develop appropriate environmental responses, including permitting and compliance activities. Coordinate submittal, review, and approvals of environmental requirements for future construction in federal and state lands. Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company. Develop and implement environmental business practices and policies that align with the organization's overall strategy. Monitor, forecast and communicate environmental costs at the project level. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, environmental, confidentiality, and code of conduct. Conduct routine site regulatory planning, reporting and oversight of activities for reclamation, site investigation, baseline studies, design, planning, implementation, and execution. Keep up to date with upcoming and potential regulatory changes and modify management systems accordingly. •The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive. Qualifications and Skills Undergraduate degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Knowledge and experience with local, state and federal regulatory framework. Nevada State experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Knowledge of the MS Suite Minimum of (3) three years of experience in the mining industry. Minimum of (1) one year of experience in environmental management. Valid driver's license.
