Fall 2026 FSC Applied Learning Program Intern - Bio-Fermentation Lab

Description The Estee Lauder Biofermentation department focuses on developing and producing innovative bio-based raw materials and ingredients for skincare and beauty products. This work uses biotechnology to harness living organisms like plants, yeast, and bacteria to create active biomolecules and biofermented compounds that can improve product performance, sustainability, and efficacy. These bio-derived ingredients often serve as alternatives to traditional materials, helping the company reduce reliance on limited natural resources and embed sustainability earlier in the product development process. As an intern for the biofermentation team, you will follow biosafety and SOP requirements, collaborate with the team and maintain an organized laboratory workspace. You will learn about and assist with the setup, sampling and final processing of bench scale fermentations. You will also be responsible for day to day lab tasks such as sample collection and analysis and media, buffer and agar preparation. Qualifications Must be a Junior or Senior Student at Farmingdale State College
