Job Duties What we need:
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Administrator 1 (Coastal Management Specialist) within the Office of Coastal Management (OCM), headquartered at 1031 Pierce St. Suite F, Sandusky, OH 44870 in Erie County. Assist administrator with coordination & implementation of coastal management projects funded through federal, state, & local sources Oversee special Lake Erie related programs & projects (e.g., identify project requirements, identify & manage budget & time frame requirements, evaluate whether project deliverables are satisfactory, negotiate with project partners as assigned) Review regular project progress reports, manage requests for proposals & assist in office budget planning Review grant applications & provide feedback Assist administrator with implementation of the Ohio Coastal Nonpoint Pollution Control Program (CNPCP) Prepare & present information on coastal issues to local, state & national organizations & public Assist administrator in meetings with other departmental divisions & outside agencies to coordinate & inform about projects Participate in outreach & technical assistance events The Natural Resources specialty for this position is Coastal Management, Biology, Hydrology, Environmental Science, &/or Geology/Oceanography Starting hourly pay of $32.35/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $46.09/hr There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied.   • Or equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.
