GENERAL PURPOSE
This is a professional position in the field of environmental health and public health protection. The Environmental Health Workflow Coordinator is responsible for reviewing all new, change of ownership and renovation projects proposed for food service establishments, long term care and childcare facilities, public bathing places, and schools. Ensures that communications between departments and stakeholders are taking place regarding new projects that require approvals from different departments. Distributes completed plan reviews to appropriate Environmental Health Specialists. The Environmental Health Workflow Coordinator will assist with applications, progress reports, documentation of deliverables and disbursements for the Retail Flexible Funding Model grant and any other grants awarded to the environmental health program. May assist with the development and administration of contracts, policies and ordinances related to awarded grant funding. May assist with training coordination, standardization and statistical analysis required for the Retail Flexible Funding Model grant. Maintains the HACCP Plan and Variance documentation for all food facilities that require HACCP Plans or Variances. Assignments require the knowledge and interpretation of local ordinances, state regulations, and Bureau of Health policies. The employee routinely acts independently to complete assignments with the guidance of established policies and protocols.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the direct supervision of the Environmental Field Services Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Monitors and occasionally distributes work to staff but does not exercise supervision over other positions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
„ Reviews all new, change of ownership and renovation projects and supporting equipment data proposed for food service establishments, long term care and childcare facilities, public bathing places, and schools. „ Meets with prospective facility owners, provides preliminary feedback and assists applicants with understanding requirements. „ Maintains the HACCP Plan and Variance documentation for all food facilities that require HACCP Plans or Variances. „ Assists with grant applications, progress reports, documentation of deliverables and disbursements. „ Coordinates with other CED areas, specifically business development to ensure successful food establishments and facilitate assistance to struggling food establishments to ensure long term operation. „ Conducts presentations on environmental topics upon request and as part of grant deliverables. „ Organizes and manages time; works independently to meet program objectives. „ Utilizes laptop computers in the office to enter data and generate report documentation. „ Assists in the preparation of ordinances, regulations and administrative regulations related to grant funding. „ Monitors inspection and complaint completion rates and reports findings to the EFSM. „ Coordinate and lead all continuing education efforts. „ Use data and form skills to utilize ArcGIS tools effectively to enhance programming. „ Interact and provide quality and effective customer service with courtesy and understanding to our customers and citizens, and internal and external departments. „ Acquires, maintains, and demonstrates the public health core competency skill levels listed below: Aware ¡V Policy Development/Program Planning, Financial Planning, Leadership and Systems Thinking Knowledgeable ¡V Analytic Assessment, Community Dimensions of Practice, Basic Public Health Sciences Proficient ¡V Communication, Cultural Competency „ Performs related work as may be required. „ Special projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Bachelor¡¦s degree in environmental health or related field. (B) Experience (minimum four years) in environmental health related occupation. (C) Meets eligibility criteria for
NEHA REHS/RS
credential.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of a motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Daily use of personal computer, copy machine, fax machine, telephone system and any other office related equipment.
