Job Description

Alliance Consulting, Inc. is a multi-disciplinary civil, environmental and engineering firm with multiple office locations in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Alliance provides engineering and scientific solutions to our clients' challenges with an operating philosophy rooted in integrity and dependability. We place our clients' needs paramount to our planning and business development. We are currently seeking a motivated individual to assist with Environmental and Ecological related tasks for our Canonsburg, PA office.
Job Description:
Mix of field and office work related to environmental monitoring, compliance and permitting projects for clients ranging from the energy industry (coal and natural gas), to land development, to stream and wetland mitigation bankers. Job tasks include but are not limited to: Environmental data collection for surface water, groundwater, and ecological purposes. Stream monitoring for flow, connectivity, water chemistry, substrate and geomorphology characteristics, benthic communities, etc.; Wetland identification, boundary delineations, vegetation identification, etc.; Water quality sampling of NPDES outlets, surface waters, private water supplies such as wells, springs, and ponds, groundwater monitoring wells/piezometers; Conduct well performance tests on private water wells; Assist with construction monitoring and density testing for geotechnical purposes; Assist in preparing detailed field documentation, reports, and mapping exhibits for compliance and permitting applications; Assist with communicating with clients, third parties, and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules and compliance issues; Successful candidate will demonstrate the following: Have a BS in Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology/Ecology, Geology, or related discipline; Desire to conduct field work on a routine basis associated with environmental data collection for surface water, groundwater, and ecological purposes; 2 to 3 years of field experience related to environmental sampling techniques and protocols preferred; Ability to work in remote areas independently while carrying necessary field gear and walking uneven ground. Familiarity with aquatic invertebrate identifications; Society for Freshwater Science Family Level Certification a plus. Wetland delineation training and experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to multi-task while organizing and implementing field work and sampling plans; Strong attention to detail with good judgment and problem-solving capabilities to address field circumstances encountered; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe; and GPS data collection systems preferred; Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and deliver documents with a focus on QA/QC; Must possess a valid motor vehicle license and comply with the company drug screening and background check policies.
